2001年初夏，Air發行他們的新專輯10000 Hz Legend。這張專輯不但展現出更成熟的Air，詞曲中更擁有驚人深度和美感的音樂，黑暗、有趣和難忘的特質同時存在。此輯大部分的歌曲在巴黎錄製，歌 曲產生的過程相當自然隨興。Air隨後到洛杉磯，在幾首歌曲中添加交響樂編曲。他們也找來老朋友Beck演唱憂鬱放克的Vagabond，並在太空搖滾史 詩作品Don't Be Light中朗誦詩詞。專輯中的歌曲除了Sex Born Poison是由Buffalo Daughter的Sugar和Yumiko演唱外，大多由Jean Benoit和Nicolas演唱。首支發行單曲Radio #1，一派緬懷70年代流行曲好時光之歡樂情調。從樸實天真的Premiers Symptomes、流行且深刻的Moon Safari、千禧年式黑暗的『The Virgin Suicides』原聲帶再到2001最新大作10000 Hz Legend，Air更證明了他們的音樂遠超過一般傳統的法國之音。
