標題: Essay writing
很多人並不知道essay 要如何開始,如何結尾 所以以下在下會用英文解釋如何寫一篇好的文章

Step 1: Pre-writing
Whenever we are given a topic to write an essay, it is crucial for you to make a plan first, before writing.  During this step, all you're doing is to brainstorm roughly what you are about to write.  I can be listed, placed in a web or a tree, or it can be a latern shape.  As long as you can get a rough idea on what you are going to write, everything shall go the way you plan it.
                List: write down in point forms what kind of things you can put in each paragraph
                Web: have the topic in the centre and connect everything you can think of to it
                Latern: Topic, thesis, body, conclusion

Step 2: Analyze
The topics given to you are not always one word topics.  They may be a sentence, or a phrase, or maybe just a picture.  For you to figure out what to write first, you must understand what the topic is asking for. And make ABSOLUTE sure that YOU READ THE INSTRUCTION PERFECTLY.  

Step 3: Draft
The is when you pick up a PENCIL and start writing.  A good essay is usally proof-read at least twice, on the same draft before re-writing into final copy.  You do not have to correct yourself in this draft.

Step 4: Proof-reading
Read over your draft for the first time without making any changes, and ask yourself, what do you think.  Second take a blue pen and start making some changes that is necissary.  Then ask a friend or another person to read it over and ask them how do they think.  Then hand that person a red pen and make any changes.

Step 5: Good Copy
If you are still in Elementary, it is best to just rewrite it in pen.  If you are in Secondary or above, I would suggest you type it, then hand it in. However, no matter which way you do it, I strongly suggest you read it over once more to make sure you have not typos or printos before you hand it in.

My ESL teacher always says this XD ( Not the one I have now)
Especially, write down points.
Actually, my most weak part is the topic sentence...
I think to write a good topic sentence is not easy...
I always feel that my topic sentence does not explain enough and....does not flow...
If I have time, I would like to write some of the topic and post on the board^^...
At least, my writing would improve a bit...

the reason I don't go into topic sentence is, it's too hard for people to understand, how to attract their audience. I'll give an example.

Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman and othe super heroes are no match to my mother.  

For me, I would want to continue reading this essay, because I know superman, batman, spiderman and wonder woman but I don't know your mother.  However, I would like to know what's so special about you're mother, that these super heroes cannot compete against.

Wow...I've never thought about this topic...and so quick...
Also, there is a common mistake which ESL students always made when they write essay.

A good essay don't always use the same words^^...
To write a good essay, you need to know various vocabulary...
Ex. " My mother always berates me for not cleaning my room. She berates atleast once a week"(not a very good sentence, fine, it's just an example.)
Then, the sentences is too formal, you should change the second sentences's berates to complains.
If you use the berate all time, it's boring...the readers would feel sleepy.
A good writer doesn't use the same vocabulary all the time^^

那就順便介紹一下Essay structure吧

Normally, an essay for homework or in tests has four to five paragraphs
It has Introduction, body and conclusion

Introduction   The purpose of introduction is to let people know about ur writing before you actually show your ideas or points

     -Background Information-explains the "background" of what you are talking about.

     -hook-the sentence that catches readers' attention to gain their interest on the essay

     -*thesis or main idea*- the main point that you wanted to address in your essay, usually at the end of introduction

Body Paragraphs(about 3 or 4)
     -opening sentence-the sentence that states your overall ideas in your body paragraph. Each body paragraph should have specific idea(s) and in most part, you shouldn't have supports that is not belong to the opening sentence.

     -supports-usually a body paragraph should have about three supports. Supporting sentences are used to support the idea in your body paragraph.

Conclusion
     I don't really know the terms of words for conclusion. Basically the conclusion explains the ideas in ur privious paragraph without introducing new ideas. You restate the ideas before and then restate the thesis.




In normal essay writing, for TOEFL, SAT, or any other essay writing, it is important to do outlines, either in ur heads or on paper. Usually the outline are different depends on different people. It will look similar as below

Intro:
background information:
thesis

Body I (.....) <---your 1st point
support 1
support 2
support 3

Body II (.....)  <---- your second point
support 1
support 2
support 3

Body III (.....) <-----your 3rd point (if you don't have time to write 3rd bodyy,                                                          then you don't need to do this part)
  support 1
  support 2
  support 3

Conclusion

耶 這個嘛
其實全部是我自己打的
當然是參考印象中課本裡面的東西+以前上課和考試的經驗


耳熟是因為大部分學生都是這樣寫outline吧
老師應該都會這樣教才對
考試像TOEFL或SAT之類
叫你30分鐘內寫完作文
更是常用到這種方法
通常像TOEFL就花5min brainstorm 和想好架構
很急的話主要就寫或想main idea+body 主題和證據就可以了
