Misconduct have been around for a considerable amount of time. When I got the new album, I was shocked. The band have changed their sound. Before they were this straight forward hardcore band,comparable to Raised Fist. Now they have taken a hold of the Melodic Hardcore sound of today. The album starts off with a very H2O type song. And goes from there. Just hearing this album reminds me of early Pennywise for some reason. They've got everything that Pennywise gives you, catchy songs, sing-a-longs, and distinct instrument sound. You hear the bass clearly on every song, the guitar work is top notch and the drumming on key on every song. The lead singer makes this band though. Fredrik Olsson takes matters into his own hands and decides to make this record work. His voice while being so powerful is pleasant to listen to.
It's tough to say what would be the best or standout track on this CD, because in my mind, every song is good and makes you want to dance. But "Side by Side" does everything. A very brutal guitar intro which reminds the listener of what the band sounded like on earlier recordings. Not too mention that "Side by Side" lyric-wise could easily be an Ignite song. But that is the type of sound the band goes for on this recording and does it very well.
Swedish and Melodic Hardcore all wrapped in one? I'm one happy boy to hear this. This CD is quality from top to bottom. Included is a live song, "What's Right" to give you the feeling of what the band is like in a live setting. Well worth it.
