英國的最西點，康沃耳郡(Cornwall)的Lands End，與美國隔著2500哩的大西洋，壯觀的海峽峭壁是世界級的地理景點，也是Will South的家鄉。作為Thirteen Senses的創作主力/主唱/鋼琴/吉他手，有著天使般純真臉孔的Will從小就展現出音樂才華；10歲開始寫歌的他，和折服於他驚人創作力的同鄉好友Adam Wilson/貝斯手、Tom Welham/吉他手及Brendon James/鼓手於2001年底組成Thirteen Senses，開始在穀倉裡頭練團、創作。經過2年磨練，累積70多首創作之後，他們終於把demo帶寄給唱片公司，而接下來的事情並不常發生：當所有接到demo的廠牌都為他們成熟的創作與聲響所吸引時，他們竟然跑去渡假。直到他們回家，才發現這超出預期的反應；在當地的一個小酒吧裡舉行現場試唱之後(當然，所有廠牌都真的到了"陸地盡頭"去看他們)，他們簽給了環球旗下的Vertigo。
歷經NME的Britpack巡迴、英國大型音樂祭T in the Park、以及和Keane、Elbow同台的Levis One To Watch演唱會後，他們迅速累積的人氣立即反映在限量單曲"Thru The Glass"供不應求、以及後來單獨巡迴每場爆滿的場面；主動邀請他們暖場的Embrace主唱David McNamara也表示深深為Will的嗓音著迷。首張專輯【The Invitation】去蕪存菁地從70多首創作中挑出，開場單曲"Into The Fire"鋼琴、貝斯、吉他陸續打開聽覺畫面，Will清亮卻挾帶黯鬱情緒的歌聲立即渲染開來，而當"Thru The Glass"副歌"You got us into this…"響起時，你才驚覺那幅完美交融的聲響景色已然浮現；若你的心在"Do No Wrong"的結尾鋼琴聲響中忍住不睡的話，請別在"The Salt Wound Routine"弦樂揚起時皺著眉。
Danton Supple(Coldplay、Starsailor)擔任製作/混音，將歌聲與鋼琴、吉他、合聲、弦樂調和到完美境界；洗鍊而優美的旋律足以「征服整個國家的心」，成熟度讓眾家樂評不敢相信這是一群21歲年輕人的第一張專輯。NME雜誌率先給予8分高評：「保證驚人的首張專輯」；英國衛報樂評也盛讚他們「揉合了Radiohead的音樂企圖和Coldplay的美好旋律」。如果你體內也流著英國的血液、或是聽到Keane、Snow Patrol、Doves這些名字有生理反應的話，buy this！
