Nagymama: A True Story 7/21

Ed is from Texus, his grandpa reads him a story every night.

Sally is from Montana, her mother leaves her nightlight to keep her from scary monsters.

I am from New Jersey, but my family... is from Eastern Europe.

Meet "nagy mama" otherwise known as grandma.  

She is four feet tall, four feet wide, and four feet cube.

I lovely refer her as the cube.

You may notice her striking resembalence, George Washington, but I assure you, she has more chin hair.

Even though she moved away to the lovely town of Fiscalliway, New Jersey almost 25 years ago, she still claims to her unusual Hungarian rituals, like bed time.

Grandma and I slept in the livingroom of a one bedroom house.

Every night before bed, grandma would make sure I was wearing my size 32X pajamas, which were firmly tucked into my socks, and then she put this smelly, hidiously, ugly, palm-palm salvation army ski cap on my head.

She tied the corners of the blankets to the matress with shoelaces.

Finally, she go to bed.

Well, one night i had to pee, "Ni mama..."

'snoozes'

I mean i really have to get "Nagy mama..."

'snoozes'

And i was vacume packed into the bed.  

'Nagy MAMA!!!!!!!!!!'

'snoozes'

I considered wetting the bed, until i remembered, every night since I was a kid.

Grandma tiptoed over to my bed, and checked to see I was still breathing with a little mirror.

So I waited... I could hear the drippy fossett in the kitchen, I though of catuses, I thought of the desert, I though of the tumble weed, I though of.... uff who am I kidding, I thought of the 48 ounce slushy I had for dessert.

Again, I considered wetting the bed.

Finally, she walked over to me with her flashlight, and I held my breathe.  

"Bloody hell"

Thankfully, after that day, she never checked my breath with a mirror again.

I know the ritual, may seem excessive, but i know she did it because she loves me.

And I turned out okay, thanks grandma.

Sally來自蒙大拿州，他的媽媽都會幫她留盞夜燈趕走那些可怕的怪物。
I am from New Jersey, but my family... is from Eastern Europe.
我則從紐澤西來，但是我的家人......卻來自東歐。

來見見「NAGY MAMA」，此外，她就跟奶奶這個角色是一樣的。

你可能會注意到她的樣子就像是George Washington，但是我給你保證，她有比較多的(查無)頭髮。

即使她在大約25年前搬到了紐澤西(查無)的一個可愛的小鎮。她仍然繼續著她看起來很奇怪的匈牙利儀式，就像是上床時間一樣(翻起來超怪)。

每晚在睡覺之前，奶奶一定都會先確認我穿了我那件有32X那麼大的睡衣，睡衣就固定地被塞進我的襪子裡，然後她就把那難聞、又討厭、又難看的胖胖(不知怎翻)救世軍雪帽戴在我頭上。

她用鞋帶把毯子的四角都綁在床墊上。
Finally, she go to bed.
最後，她去睡了。
Well, one night i had to pee, "Ni mama..."
嗯，有一晚我想去噓噓，「NI MAMA」。
'snoozes'
(打鼾中)
I mean i really have to get "Nagy mama..."
我說我真的要「NAGY MAMA」。
'snoozes'
(還是打鼾中)
And i was vacuum packed into the bed.  
(不知怎翻)
'Nagy MAMA!!!!!!!!!!'
「NAGY MAMA!!!!!!」
'snoozes'
(打鼾中)

我在想要不要把床給弄濕，一直到我想到從我還小時，每個晚上

奶奶都會悄悄地來到我的床邊用小鏡子檢查看看是否我還有呼吸。

所以我就等......我可以聽到廚房裡水滴滴落在凹槽的聲音，我想到了仙人掌，想到了沙漠，想到了風滾草，想到了......哦，我在跟誰開玩笑，我想到了我當點心喝的48盎司的冰沙。
Again, I considered wetting the bed.
再一次的，我又在想把床給弄濕。
Finally, she walked over to me with her flashlight, and I held my breath.  
最後，她帶著手電筒走到我身邊來，而我屏住呼吸。
"Bloody hell"
「嗜血的地獄啊」(天啊，怎麼會這樣)
Thankfully, after that day, she never checked my breath with a mirror again.
謝天謝地，從那天起，她就不再用鏡子檢查我的呼吸了。
I know the ritual, may seem excessive, but i know she did it because she loves me.
我知道這個儀式看起來很誇張，但是我也知道她是因為愛我才這樣做的。
And I turned out okay, thanks grandma.
所以我都過得很好，謝謝，奶奶。

有些地方也是翻的不是很好，還有沒翻到的地方，請多包含
說實在的，這篇還蠻難翻的(囧)，單字狂查

感想：
話說看完影片跟整個文章之後，雖然沒有什麼重大的感想，不過覺得嗯，還算是蠻溫馨又有點搞笑

我對她為什麼叫她奶奶這個稱呼感到蠻奇怪的，能說一下為什麼嗎XD?

有一個不同國籍的奶奶，溝通起來應該有點困難吧。

我對她為什麼叫她奶奶這個稱呼感到蠻奇怪的，能說一下為什麼嗎XD?

有一個不同國籍的奶奶，溝通起來應該有點困難吧。

那是 Hungarian~ 他們奶奶都是這樣稱呼的
但是他們是同一個國籍的~他們算是移民

怎麼一個會說英文一個不說呢= =?(聽不懂他奶奶說啥XD)

chin hair竟然查不到，奇摩字典還真是有夠爛的= =

他們溝通的方式就是他們Hungarian 的語言阿

chin hair = 鬍鬚

vacuum 是指吸力
她被吸在棉被裡怎麼能動呢
